LarpLikeRae has discontinued this cosplay series and will no longer be joining back. Please enjoy all of these cosplays that have been done, created and the efforts for each one! Do not harass cosplayers that have left fandoms for personal reasons and do not pressure cosplayers to do characters they have discontinued.
One of the most cosplayed characters LarpLikeRae has done from Aphmau is Aaron Lycan from different outfits, series, and designs.
Aaron Lycan
"As many of you all know, I have over 68 (for far) cosplays or Katsuki Bakugou from My Hero Academia. That being said before I even got into MHA, my most cosplayed fandom was from Aphmau with Aaron Lycan having countless of cosplays and outfits. Since it has been years and I have left the fandom, I have blocked out a lot of knowledge of the series and fandom so I will not be going into much details, but please enjoy all of the different versions of Aaron and all the hard work put into it!"
From one of the first series LarpLikeRae has cosplayed from to a fandom that started their own fan base and content.
Aphmau
"I won't lie, one of my first ever cosplays that was posted on TikTok from 2018/2019 was from Aphmau. I have done several different versions of my Aphmau cosplay even though she was not a character I cosplay as often. I remember mainly using things I found around the house for her cosplays rather than purchasing them (other than the school uniform). This cosplay definitely helped me gain the platform I have now on TikTok, so if you are reading this and were around when I was posting my Aphmau content, you are a true hard core fan!"
One of the biggest glow-ups LarpLikeRae has created and produced has been Kawaii-Chan from Aphmau.
Kawaii-Chan
"Some of the best glow-ups in the cosplay community are cosplays that you haven't done in years and change up just for the new growth. Kawaii-chan was one of the characters I did first from Aphmau and within time would occasionally bring back every once in a while to see my growth. Throughout the years with looking at each photo you are able to see how many changes I had made and what I have added and taken away to perfect the cosplay."
Every cosplayer starts somewhere, that can include from sewing, prop building, wig styling or like this one.... armor building.
Katelyn
"My Katelyn cosplay from Aphmau is one where I have made several different versions of and have changed so much throughout the years from wigs, contacts and outfits. My first ever armor build was of Katelyn from the Mystreet series back in 2019. No matter what I have always loved to look back at these cringy photos to know how much I have progressed and see my growth compared to where I am now!"
From a cosplay that started out with just a wig to several witch hats later...
Lucinda
"When I had first cosplayed as Lucinda I didn't really have any witch hats or accessories meant for her until I started to widen my wardrobe for cosplay. I made all the witch hats shown here and some of them were made WAY TOO HEAVY so I had to hold them up haha! Within time I had added some new details for her cosplay to make it more unique and different than my past cosplays of her."
Acting takes a whole new level to cosplaying than most features, especially while in character for a video.
Kim
"I have never been one for acting until I started to cosplay more and more as time went on. Acting is a pretty good detail to add to your cosplays to bring them more to life, however you do not need acting to be a sucessful cosplayer. Kim from Aphmau was one of the characters that I had to act at least a little for since she's more on the shy side. So while bringing her cosplay to life several times, there are many times where I had to step outside of my comfort zone to cosplay as her."
There are many characters to cosplay as from the several Aphmau series on YouTube, some are more rare to find than others.
Dottie
"From my days of cosplaying from Aphmau, there were a lot of cosplays that I was able to do that were either rare to cosplay as or haven't been that popular. I wanted to be a cosplayer that was unique and be able to bring characters to life even if they weren't seen often. Dottie is one of those characters. I had ears that I used for several other cosplays and ended up putting on a purple wig for her, so her cosplay was one of the easiest ones done out of all of them."
There are sometimes moments where cosplayers don't have items for a character but will still put something together to do their absolute best.
Blaze
"I remember one of my first times cosplaying as Blaze I didn't have a proper wig for him, so I tied back a red wig to give him a pony tail. Lots of people kept arguing in the comment sections of those videos who they thought that character was. So years later I decided to recreate his cosplay and make it a little bit more well known."
From a very old TikTok video that did well to now a change of cosplay and design!
Garroth
"Due to all of the different series from Aphmau, I took it upon myself to cosplay as many versions of each character as possible. One of them being Garroth! There is a huge glow up throughout the years of my Garroth and I am so happy to be able to show each and every one of them!"
There are times where growing and learning with cosplays does not seem like it happens until you blink.
Laurence
"While cosplaying from Aphmau, I had always thought that my Laurence didn't change or update as rapidly as my other cosplays from the series did. However, little did I know that they were changing in a blink of an eye. I am very glad I have been able to challenge myself with cosplays from the past and to have the chance to change the way I cosplay throughout the years. My Laurence cosplay is a prime example of it!"
From one casual cosplay to more of a cannon look, there are several ways to bring a character to life without having to be screen accurate!
Dante
"I have always loved to cosplay as characters that have a chaotic personality and facial hair. Dante has both luckily and has been such an amazing cosplay to bring to life. I had only really cosplayed as him a few times but easily was able to do it by the simplicity of his character and cosplay."
How can makeup underneath a face mask still portray a character so well?
Zane
"Like most of these cosplays from Aphmau, I had cosplayed a lot of them first before some of the newer characters or concepts. Zane was one of the very few I cosplayed at first, and like my Blaze cosplay I did not have a short black wig, so I had to tie a long black wig into a ponytail to pull him off. As time progressed of course I had gotten a new wig but everything else stayed pretty much the same. The makeup was the main attribute that had changed and actually looked better each and every time even if I wore a mask! So how can makeup look good and so vastly different while wearing a face mask? Facial expressions help!!! That's my secret. It's not all about the makeup, having over exaggerated facial expressions help bring the character to life a tad bit more with only covering half our face."
There are plenty of ways to enhance a character from a simple non-styled wig to a full get up with no time at all.
Travis
"One of the cosplays I personally saw grow and update the fastest in my career were my Bakugou as well as my Travis. For my Travis cosplay, I first started out with a simple wig and then began to add more and more to the point where it was customized to his character. There have been lots of changes I've done for him and I am very glad I did since I was able to get motivated by my own changes!"
There are sometimes opportunities where a cosplay can be only made for content purposes and not be anything the cosplayer wants to do.
Ein
"This cosplay was only really done to show that I have progressed within time, I never really liked the character since he was the main villain of several series. So my attention wasn't every really towards this character and wanting to cosplay as him, there are several MUCH BETTER characters to cosplay as from Aphmau for me to do. This does not go for anyone else however! Cosplay whoever you'd like! Ein was just never a character I wanted to do and don't want to continue."
There are several series from Aphmau that have other main characters that do not focus on the main story line.
Jenny
"In 2021 I had made the choice to leave the Aphmau cosplay community and start to make different cosplays and content. For a brief while I came back in 2022 to show how much I glowed up and grew as a creator. I added new characters and cosplays to the new coming back video such as Jenny. I didn't cosplay as Jenny before so this was a different cosplay as it wasn't a re-cosplay. It was fun being able to make my Jenny cosplay for the first time and not focus on re-doing a character that I already have."
From smaller side series that so many people request and demand to cosplaying from them.
Leif
"Aphmau has lots of different series and seasons with a lot of characters from each. One of the series Aphmau has created is known as 'My Inner Demons' a show with several demons entering into our realm and needing to get back. Leif was my favorite at the time of the series coming out and I started to make a cosplay based off his character and design. About a year later I had remade the cosplay and decided to put a new and improved version to good use!"
There are moments where cosplayers go years without cosplaying as a character and when they come back.... they come back so much better and look entirely different.
Sasha
"My Sasha cosplay has been one of the characters from Aphmau that has changed the MOST. First when cosplayed as her in 2019, I did more of a fantasy version but later on in 2022 I had redone her cosplay as a casual outfit for the main series: Mystreet. Her outfit is much more fun to do than most of the other characters due to her style, personality and customization."
There are many moments when cosplayers redo a cosplay years later, they change and grow to look entirely different.
Emmalyn
"I remember one of my very first cosplays in 2019 was my own version of Emmalyn, a book nerd and geek in Mystreet. When I was redoing my cosplays in 2022 I decided to leave out her cosplay since Kim is a character that has another version of Emmalyn possessing her with her ghost. For those that do and do not watch Aphmau, this can be confusing so I decided to leave my Emmalyn cosplay out of the video."
There are moments when cosplays are redone in the future years, months or decades later that are using the same exact outfit, just different accessories and experience to differ from the two versions.
Melissa
"My first time cosplaying as Melissa I had decided to edit the photo a lot, later on when I cosplayed as her again I tried staying FAR AWAY from editing the photo and adding lots of details. Simpler was better for this cosplay. I used everything I still had except new ears I had made. Other than that, this cosplay mainly progressed with growth and knowledge of cosplaying for several years."
In 2019, Aphmau posted on TikTok that she was looking for cosplayers that cosplay from Phoenix Drop Days and was going to include them in a video.
Keori
"I was featured briefly in an Aphmau PDD Cosplay video she had posted in 2019. I had made several videos in hopes that she would use one of them. She did! Just the video I hated the most and thought of deleting, but instead that was the one she posted. It wasn't a bad video, I just had made a video with LOTS of characters from the series and she used the video that only had one character. So it was a little saddening but without further ado, this cosplay came from the request and need of cosplayers for her video."
Most cosplayers prefer to use wigs for their cosplays and characters, however there are moments where people are able to use their natural hair for a cosplay!
Hunter
"For my Hunter cosplay, it was never really something I had planned or really wanted to do until I cut and dyed my hair silver. Once I had gave myself a new hairstyle, several people were requesting for me to cosplay as him once I had dyed my hair, so I gave into the request and made his cosplay. This was one of the first cosplays I did that I genuinely felt like the gender I was cosplaying as and loved the way it felt to look that way. This cosplay helped me understand my sexuality later on as Genderfluid."
